You’ve got a 9 Square in the Air Deluxe Game set for your school, and it has been a great addition to your PE class.
It works well in an activity rotation, a warm-up for running or a way to fill the last ten minutes of class.
That’s why you may be excited to learn that there’s an easy way to dramatically expand the number of games you can play with your 9 Square in the Air. It’s the Activity Pack, a 185-piece extension that includes a variety of components for changing 9 Square in the Air into at least ten other games.
Think about the fun you would have with your students playing these games:
Floor Hockey: What if the legs of the 9 Square in the Air could become…hockey sticks?! With the cue adapters and one of the neon yellow or pink flying discs, you’ve got the sticks and pucks. Then, use squares from the game without the legs as the goals.
Your students will learn coordination and teamwork while playing an active game that requires concentration and strategy. You’ll be glad you had all the pieces in just one set!
Variations on the Classic: Set up your 9 Square in the Air as usual, but use the giant foam die to create a variation on the game, For instance, one side of the die requires players to use only their strong hand to play. Another variation requires the server to choose a theme, such as animals or sports teams, then players have to call one out while they hit the ball.
Another variation approach is to use the Exercise Spot. This is a guide that tells you a different exercise activity for each spot in the 9 Square in the Air game. When a player gets “out,” all of the students must do nine of whatever exercise corresponds to that player’s square. When the player in the center square gets “out,” everyone must do nine jumping jacks. When the player in the three square gets “out,” everyone must do nine toe touches. It’s a great way to incorporate specific exercises into your PE class.
Flyer Fortress Attack: This may be the game that your students ask to play again and again. Taking a few cues from Capture the Flag, this game uses the base squares from your 9 Square in the Air game, flipping them over to attach legs and perch balls on top of the legs. Students form teams, then try to use the flying discs to knock their opponents’ balls off the legs while protecting their own square. It’s a game that gets your students moving and requires them to use hand-eye coordination.
Your PE class requires very little lesson planning when you have the Activity Pack from 9 Square in the Air. You’ll be happy to know that it also stores easily in two convenient bags. Contact us to get your Activity Pack ordered today!
