How to run a 9 Square in the Air Tournament
Running a 9 Square in the Air tournament is easy, and a great way to change the flavor of the game. Set a time limit for how long the tournament will run. Let’s say you choose a 30-minute tournament, using the honor system for scoring. Have each player keep track of the number of times they serve the ball from the “king†square. Instruct players to keep adding up their score for the entire 30 minutes. At the end, whoever has been in the “king†square the highest number of rounds is the winner.
If you decide not to use the honor system, assign someone to keep a written record of the score as the game progresses.
One of the fun dynamics that a tournament creates is rivalry between the top players, and the alliances that sometimes form between players. A tournament definitely ups the competition factor, and can be a great way to use your 9 Square in the Air game set.
